My "Favourite" Subject this Term
I don't have a favourite subject in this semester, but maybe Sociology of Gender is the less boring only because the teacher isn't so dynamic, everything besides that is great; the topics of the classes are entertaining.
In a few words, the subject is an expository class: We sit down and listen to the teacher and we discuss only when have homework We put our chairs in a circle and do a more inclusive class. It has something in common with Sociology of Football (my favourite subject until now). Both use inclusive methods to explain the author and some concepts and we are not listening to a "god" for an hour and half.
I like this subject more than others mainly because of its contents: It talks about the history of the Feminist Movement, the different points of view since its birth, how Sociology can contribute and how Latin America receives it and developed its own theories about it. In all of these contents we can apply what we learn in the previous subjects and try to contribute in the movement that today is making a difference
